We risk hurting ourselves badly by putting on make-up on the train. British health experts have just warned women they are more likely to scuff their corneas with a toothbrush. makeup or an eye pencil when the train suddenly brakes. Dr Susan Blakeney, one of the UK’s leading eye health experts explained the importance of good eye care in a National Health Week talk ocularin Great Britain. She pointed out that eye abrasions could lead to more infections.
This warning comes after the results of a survey carried out by the College of Optometrists (UK) which revealed that more than half of women do not read the expiry date of their make-up products.
“The simple steps like washing your hands and paying attention to the expiry date [des produits pour les yeux]could reduce potential eye health risks,” says Dr. Susan Blakeney.
She also advised against sharing her makeup with others. “We wouldn’t share our toothbrush with anyone, but more than half of women aged 16 to 24 admit they share mascara with friends and family,” she added.
