Porsche presents the Macan T, which is inserted between the Macan and the Macan S with a 265 hp four-cylinder turbo and a sharp chassis. Recognizable by a few finishing details and equipped with specific equipment, it is displayed at €71,440.
The range of the Porsche Macan is expanding with the arrival of a T (Touring) version, a finish hitherto reserved for the 718 and 911 (type 991). This letter is synonymous for the brand with a sporty configuration associated with one of the least powerful engines in the range. The SUV is no exception, with this new variant taking over the base Macan’s 2.0-litre 265hp turbo inline-four. The Macan T’s ground connections have been reworked for more dynamic behavior. A sportiness reinforced by a few aesthetic details.
More dynamic chassis and transmission
The engine of the Macan T is still associated with all-wheel drive as standard via the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox. The electronic distribution of torque (still 400 Nm) has been revised to further favor the rear axle. The Sport Chrono pack is supplied as standard, enough to grab 0.2 s on the 0 to 100 km/h exercise compared to the entry-level Macan and reach a time of 6.2 s. The top speed of the two models is the same, with 232 km/h announced. This new version of the crossover has ground clearance lowered by 15 mm and controlled damping. An adaptive air suspension allowing the ride height to be lowered by an additional 10 mm is offered as an option, a first for a four-cylinder Macan. The front stabilizer bars are firmer than on the standard model.
Porsche also points out that the engine of the Macan T weighs 58.8 kg less than the 380 hp biturbo V6 of the S model, guaranteeing a more agile behavior. The newcomer is far from being a featherweight, however, with its 1,940 kg empty, ie 65 kg less than a Macan S but 20 kg more than a Macan “just plain”.
More than €100,000 with penalty
Externally, the Porsche Macan T can be recognized by dark gray metallic color of its front air intakes, mirror caps, side guards, roof spoiler and rear lettering. The vehicle also has 20-inch dark gray rims from the Macan S. The passenger compartment has a heated GT steering wheel, heated seats whose black semi-leather upholstery is contrasted by light gray stitching and decorated on its armrests. head of the Porsche Crest, as well as exclusive door sills. The list of standard equipment also includes, among others:
- three-zone automatic climate control;
- cruise control/speed limiter;
- navigation system ;
- front and rear parking sensors;
- LED spotlights;
- motorized tailgate;
- lane change alert.
Located between the Macan and the Macan S in the range, the Porsche Macan T is now available to order in France at a price of €71,440, not including a minimum penalty of €35,720 (CO taxes2 + weight capped at €40,000 or 50% of the price, as is the case here). Hexagonal taxation hurts the Porsche SUV, which has no hybrid mechanics. It will go directly to 100% electric on the next generation, which will be released in 2023, but the current version will have the right to play the extensions until 2024.
