The German off-road conversion specialist Delta 4 x 4 presents its Porsche 911 “Safari”. This is a Carrera 4S type 992 with raised ground clearance, large studded tires and accessories inspired by rally-raid.
A new Safari version of the 911 makes its appearance. Delta 4 x 4, a German specialist in all-terrain preparations, did not want to wait for the official release of the Porsche model (scheduled for spring 2022) and has just unveiled its 911 in rally-raid sauce.
Ready for adventure
The 911 Safari from Delta 4 x 4 is a Porsche Carrera 4S Type 992, which the preparer fitted with suspensions developed with Bilstein and Eibach. Three height adjustments are available, La 911 which can rise from 15 maximum cm. The body also receives widened wheel arches, four additional lights on the hood and a roof rack accommodating all the survival equipment necessary for an adventure in the desert. Few technical details have been revealed regarding the mechanics. However, it’s a safe bet that the flat-6 3.0 twin-turbo 450 hp for 530 Nm of torque is still in the game. On the other hand, the performance is certainly less flattering than that of the original model (0 to 100 km / h in 3.6 s with the PDK gearbox) due to the presence of all-terrain tires wrapped around home-made Klassik-B rims.

Delta 4 x 4 is not the only one who wants to make a Porsche all-terrain. In July 2021, Marc Philipp Gemballa already presented the Marsien, a 750 hp all-terrain supercar inspired – like the 911 Delta 4 x 4 – by the Porsche 959 from the Paris-Dakar of the 1980s. A little earlier in January, the American restomod specialist, Singer, had unveiled the ACS, a real rally beast. As for the Stuttgart firm, it has long been thinking about releasing a tribute version of the 911 Safari, as evidenced by the Vision Safari concept revealed in 2012 and produced on the basis of 991.
