The second Peugeot 308 of the name has never been marketed in Brazil, yet the local branch of the manufacturer now offers a used one. This is one of the few units imported for homologation before the marketing was canceled.
A second-generation Peugeot 308 is offered for auction in Brazil on the website Superbid. It is sold by the local branch of the tricolor manufacturer. So far, nothing very noticeable. However, this Peugeot 308 was never marketed in Brazil. This copy testifies to an aborted project of the lion brand across the Atlantic.

Brazilians deprived of 308
The first generation of Peugeot 308 was available in Brazil and, when the manufacturer renewed its compact in 2013, it was expected that its latest addition would also be offered there. The second 308 of the name was to be launched there in July 2015, only in a 205 hp GT petrol version for a high-end positioning. Peugeot Brazil had imported around 100 units for testing. The approvals were obtained, but for various reasons, the marketing of the 308 II in Brazil was however canceled at the last moment. The few imported cars were then reserved for the Brazilian executives of the company., and it is one of them that is on sale today.

Sloppy bodywork
Showing just under 77,000 km, this 308 from 2015 was not spared as evidenced by the many scratches, dents and other marks on the body. An astonishing condition for a car which remained in the bosom of the manufacturer. It is also indicated that the engine was not tested before the sale. The car nevertheless has a good level of equipment with automatic transmission, air conditioning and leather upholstery. As rare in Brazil as it is commonplace with us, this 308 is displayed there at the starting price of 42,243 reals, or 6,916 €.

Instead of the 308 II, Brazil had to be content with this restyling of the first generation in 2016.
As for the new 308 (the third of the name), its arrival in Brazil is not planned. Peugeot stopped there, in 2019, the marketing of the hitherto available model, a restyled 308 I (see photo above), to limit its “tourism” range to the 208, 2008 (1time generation) and 3008.
