In just over a hundred days, the Paris Motor Show will open its doors. As the deadline approaches, builders confirm their presence or not. According to our information, of the 9 brands of the Stellantis group sold in France, only 3 will be present: Peugeot, DS and Jeep.
The Paris World Cup is back, from October 18 to 23, 2022, after four years of absence. But the first International Motor Show – both in terms of longevity (it was born in 1898) and attendance (more than a million visitors) – should lose its luster. Blame it on the growing dislike of brands for these expensive events, although the organizers are trying to contain these costs with a reduced exhibition period (7 days) and limited stand surfaces (1,500 m² maximum). If the list of exhibitors has not yet been formalized, the BMW and Volkswagen groups have announced that they will not make the trip.
Peugeot, DS and Jeep present…
On the French side, the Renault group (Renault, Alpine and Dacia) has confirmed its presence and has many surprises in store. The manufacturer with the diamond must in particular present a first draft of its future R4. According to our information, Peugeot will also have a stand at the Palais des Expositions at Porte de Versailles. The opportunity for the manufacturer to offer a first walkabout to its P54 (408) project. DS will also be there with in its luggage the restyled version of the DS 7 Crossback, which will be revealed this summer. In contrast, Citroën – whose news is limited in 2022 – will skip the Paris Motor Show. The Stellantis group will count as the ultimate Jeep representative, which will present its first 100% electric SUV, little brother of the Renegade.

… Opel, Fiat and Alfa Romeo absent from the Mondial
Neither Opel, nor Fiat, nor even Alfa Romeo or Maserati will have a stand at the Paris Motor Show. The absence of several major brands has also forced the organizers to review their battle plan. No manufacturers will be present in halls 1 and 2. These will go to exhibitors at the Equip Auto Show, dedicated to automotive after-sales and services, which will be held simultaneously.
The models to discover will be distributed between halls 4 and 6. Gone are the days of lavish editions, where manufacturers occupied almost the entire exhibition center. So that visitors do not miss their way, the organizers will have to work twice as hard in terms of entertainment. A test center with a fleet of one hundred models has already been announced.
