The CoronaCheck app is available for access to events and travel abroad. But what if you can’t use it? Then you print your test or vaccination certificate on paper.
To keep the number of corona infections as low as possible, you must be able to demonstrate that you do not have corona. The government has released the CoronaCheck app for this. This is a free smartphone app that gives you access to events such as concerts and football matches. The app is also intended for safe travel abroad. You can read more about the CoronaCheck app and questions about the CoronaCheck in general here.
Unfortunately, there are a number of limitations with the CoronaCheck app:
- The app is linked to the mobile number of your smartphone. This means that each app can only carry one person’s data. Every person should therefore have their own app on their own smartphone.
- The app is only available for smartphones, not tablets.
- The app is not available for Windows smartphones.
- The app only works on Android from version 6 and on iPhones from version iOS 12 (iPhone 5s and newer).
If you cannot use the app for these or other reasons, there is an alternative: the CoronaCheck on paper.
What is the CoronaCheck on paper?
The CoronaCheck app creates a QR code to show that you have been tested, recovered or vaccinated. A QR code is a kind of square barcode with information. At the entrance to an event or when traveling through customs, you can quickly and easily check whether you are allowed to enter by scanning the QR code.
At the CoronaCheck on paper you can print this QR code on paper. You can then use this paper for access to events and travel abroad.
What do I need for the CoronaCheck on paper?
- You need access to the internet via a PC or laptop for the website at the CoronaCheck.
- You need a printer to print the QR code.
- For proof that you have been tested negative: the collection code or your DigiD. For proof of complete vaccination: your DigiD.
What is the disadvantage of the CoronaCheck on paper?
With a test certificate you only get access to events if you tested negative just before. The test certificate is valid for 40 hours. After that, you need to create and print a new test receipt.
When can I use the CoronaCheck on paper?
This is already possible in June for access to events in the Netherlands with a recent negative corona test. From the end of June, the CoronaCheck can also be used on paper as proof for vaccination in the Netherlands. From 1 July, the CoronaCheck is also available on paper as a vaccination certificate outside the Netherlands in the EU. However, there are still some limitations to this, because each country determines itself which conditions a visitor must meet. Look here for more information.
How can I put my vaccination in the CoronaCheck certificate if it has not yet been registered?
Vaccinations at the GGD are registered automatically, but vaccinations at, for example, general practitioners are not always registered. In that case, ask your doctor if he or she wants to register your vaccination for the CoronaCheck.
How do I make a CoronaCheck on paper?
