‘New release Windows will appear in 2024’

If we are to believe the latest rumors, Microsoft is changing the Windows roadmap and a new release appears every three years.

Windows 11 appeared in 2021. And if we count three years ahead, then the next major release will arrive sometime in 2024. That reports Windows Central based on anonymous sources.

Initially, a version of Windows was planned to appear in 2023, called Sun Valley 3. But sources now report that that version has been deleted.

More features for Windows

This isn’t the only change Microsoft is making. From now on we can expect more new functions per Windows update.

That already starts with Windows 11 version 2H22 (also called Sun Valley 2). We can probably expect an update every quarter that will add more options to the system.

However, it is not clear whether this concerns fairly large or somewhat limited functionalities. Microsoft could also add some smaller parts over time.

The Redmond-based company reportedly packs those features into updates called Moments. Of course, those updates first come to Insiders, before the general public’s turn.

We are now waiting for confirmation from Microsoft. It is not yet known when Microsoft will announce the possible changes.
