How to manage to overcome the trauma generated by the Paris attacks? Discussing it with a psychologist is a great help in digesting the shock and rebuilding yourself.
Psychological emergency cells in Paris and Saint-Denis
After a traumatic event, survivors may experience a post-traumatic stress disorder. It is a psychological disorder manifested by feelings of fear and threat, hypersensitivity, sleeping troubles and attention and hypervigilance. These symptoms are common after a tragedy, but they should not be allowed to settle over the long term.
This is why the Ministry of Health has opened medico-psychological emergency cells, in particular in the town halls of the 10th and 11th arrondissements of Paris and at the Saint-Denis hospital (93), near the places affected. by attacks.
Psychologists and psychiatrists take turns in these centers between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. to welcome, listen to and reassure witnesses and local residents.
To make contact with these psychological cells, go there or call the number set up by the Paris City Hall at 3975. You can also contact the National Federation of Victims of Collective Attacks and Accidents (Fenvac) on the toll-free number 0 800 40 60 05.
If you have witnessed the tragedies, if you have lost a loved one or a member of your family, or if you feel the need to entrust your upheaval to a professional, do not hesitate to consult a psychologist or psychiatrist.
