Mini is reviewing the number of versions of the Countryman downwards, its prices upwards, and declines its SUV in a special series called Untamed with an adventurous look and original finish. The crossover range now starts at €28,000. The offer remains very extensive.
Mini is updating the Countryman range at the start of 2022. Like many of its competitors, the small British SUV is seeing its prices increase, however the increase remains relatively contained. It amounts to €400 across the entire range (apart from the Business Design finish reserved for companies, which takes €800) and follows an increase of €200 dating from May 2021.
The manufacturer withdraws the Cooper All4, Cooper D All4 and Cooper SD traction versions from the French market very impacted by the increase in the ecological malus. For example, the minimum amount of the tax on the premiere had increased from €157 to €1,172 with the entry into force of the 2022 scale. In terms of finishes, the special Untamed series enriches an already substantial catalog. The Northwood edition is still there.
Equipment specific to certain engines
There are no significant changes to report on the equipment side. The standard endowment always offers, among other things:
- manual air conditioning
- 8.8-inch central touch screen
- reversing radar
- LED headlights and fog lights
- automatic lights and wipers
- line crossing alert
- Alloy Wheels
The wheels have a base diameter of 16 inches on the One and Cooper models. They go to 17 inches on the Cooper S which also benefit automatically from automatic dual-zone air conditioning, and to 18 inches on the JCW. The Countryman Cooper SE plug-in hybrid, for its part, receives from the outset a retractable head-up display.
A well-equipped intermediate offer
The second level of the range, still called Classic, adds in particular:
- dual-zone automatic climate control (One and Cooper)
- sliding rear seat (except Cooper SE)
- electrically folding mirrors
- inductive charger
- motorized tailgate
- 17-inch (One and Cooper) or 18-inch (Cooper S) rims
The Yours configuration also has:
- navigation system
- retractable head-up display (standard on Cooper SE)
- front parking radar
- semi-autonomous parking
- 19 inch rims

Upscale style or sport
The Northwood Edition (17-inch rims) allows for the addition of a panoramic sunroof, lights with black background, “sport” front seats and a few exclusive aesthetic details. The JCW finish takes up the Yours equipment level (with 18-inch rims) but also benefits froman aerodynamic kit, a “sport” suspension and more enveloping seats among other sporting attributes.
The range is still topped by the 306 hp Countryman John Cooper Works. In its Ultimate variant, the latter is even entitled to an adaptive suspension, 19-inch rims and bucket seats in addition to JCW equipment.
Green leather in the Untamed Edition
The Mini Countryman Edition Untamed adopts an adventurer look. Its exclusive “Momentum Grey” light gray bodywork color is extended to the surround of the front bumper air intakes. It is contrasted by dark gray stripes affixed to the flanks as well as by the black of the brand and model logos, the roof, the mirror caps and the roof bars. The two-tone 18-inch rims are also specific to this special series.
The inscription “Untamed” appears on the rear side windows. It is found on the door sills and the dashboard, on a graphic decor inspired by a mountain landscape. The passenger compartment receives “sport” front seats and “Highland Green” leather upholstery contrasted by light green and blue stitching. In addition to the equipment in the Yours finish, specific floor mats and a panoramic sunroof complete the range.
