Head cheese suspected of containing Listeria has been withdrawn from sale in supermarkets in many departments in southwestern France.
Deli meats likely to contain listeria have been withdrawn from sale in several departments in southwestern France. This is head cheese produced by the Bories company located in Plaisance 70 km from Rodez (Aveyron).
These products were withdrawn from the market following the results of analyzes carried out in a supermarket in Hérault showing the presence of the bacteria. The additional analyzes carried out in the company were all negative but, as a precautionary measure, all the incriminated batches were removed from the shelves.
These were sold between November 23 and December 31 in Carrefour, Intermarché and E. Leclerc stores, in the sliced charcuterie department in the form of terrine or bread.
The departments of Aude, Aveyron, Haute-Garonne, Hérault, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Lozère, Eastern Pyrenees and Tarn are concerned.
Although the products were quickly withdrawn from sale, some had already been marketed. Thus, people who have consumed this head cheese and present signs of fever, with or without headaches, are invited to contact their doctor.. Pregnant women, the elderly, or the immune-compromised should pay special attention to these symptoms.
