Two entrepreneurs from Lyon have developed a connected watch that will make the daily life of patients with Alzheimer’s easier and will warn the family in the event of an abnormal situation.
A connected show to assist patients
Alzheimer’s disease affects nearly 800,000 people in France and this figure is likely to increase in the years to come, with the aging of the population. To cope with these new phenomena and better support sick people, many inventions are being developed every day. Today we are interested in Lili Smart, a connected watch that provides personalized assistance to patients.
This watch is linked to an application that can be downloaded to their phones by caregivers and family members. They will thus be able to know in real time if the patient has fallen or if he is lost.. Equipped with a GPS, the watch will send alerts, via SMS, to relatives when, for example, the user of the watch leaves the perimeter defined by the family.
An assistant for people with loss of autonomy
But this watch is also an essential tool for people with loss of autonomy. It allows, in fact, to recall the time of the meals or the time of the medication.. Thanks to a small vibration, the patient is invited to look at his watch and he will see a pictogram which will tell him what to do. This watch is used with smart sensors that are installed in the home of the person with loss of autonomy. These sensors will memorize his habits and detect unusual changes.
” We wanted relieve family caregivers, who may be under great stress in the face of the disease », Explained Vincent Théry, co-founder of Lili Smart, in the columns of Figaro. ” Having collaborative tools, which allow the family to communicate easily, can only improve daily life.»The functions of the watch can then be adapted in the event of a greater loss of autonomy.
