Kia doubles its Sportage offering. After the version intended for world markets, with the exception of Europe, it is the turn of the Old Continent to be served with a shorter and more dynamic offer. While waiting for the presentation scheduled for September 1, here are the first sketches of the family SUV.
The fifth generation of the Kia Sportage will be officially presented on 1er next September. Hadn’t this new SUV already been presented at the beginning of last June? Yes, but it was then the international version not intended for Europe. Kia will therefore offer the model for the Old Continent in a few days.
A family resemblance to the front
In the meantime, the manufacturer is making our mouths water by unveiling sketches of its family SUV. As expected, the similarities, especially on the front part are very real: the grille reinterprets in the same way the Tiger Nose placed high up and framed by daytime running lights in the shape of a boomerang. Note that the optics may have Matrix LED technology.
A more dynamic silhouette
On the other hand, in profile, the European model (sketch) appears more compact than the one presented in Korea at the beginning of the summer. Kia confirms two Sportages will display different lengths : the European version will be closer to that of the current generation (approximately 4.50 m in length). In addition, its silhouette is more dynamic with a rear pillar more inclined and completely redesigned. According to the spyshots that appeared on the Internet, the fires should receive a treatment similar to that of the global version.
The official presentation will take place on 1er September, and Kia will be exhibiting this new European Sportage at the Munich Motor Show (September 7 to 12).
