I am 70 years old and have had erectile dysfunction for over twenty years. In consultation with the doctor I tried several erection pills, including Viagra, but they had no results. Recently I read on my hospital’s website about the possibility of self-injection. Is that something for me?

With this therapy, you inject vasodilator substances into the erectile tissue of the penis. Instead of injections, you can also opt for a type of marker that you place in the urethra. Such an approach often still works if erection pills do not help. The effect is more or less ‘mechanical’; you don’t have to be excited for it. It is of course less comfortable than a tablet. And often a test dose has to be given at the doctor or urologist to see if it does not give you an erection that lasts too long.
Some men are very satisfied with it, others try it a few times and then stop. It kind of depends on how much value you place on sex in the relationship together. If it means a lot to you, you will easily get over the inconvenience.
