There are homeopathic preparations of which you have undoubtedly seen the advertisements in front of a pharmacy or on television: against the flu (Oscillococcinum®), sore throat (Homeogene 9®), loss of voice (Homeovox®), cough (Stodal®), canker sores (Homeoaftyl®), stage fright (Zénalia®), hay fever (Rhinallergy®), etc. Homeopathic doctors are quite divided on their subject. Do they not copy classic medicine: a drug for a disease, without respecting the personalized prescription? To compensate for this handicap, the complexes combine the different homeopathic remedies most often recommended for the disorder in question: between 3 and 11 depending on the medication. Dr Boulet is wary of specialties which cover too broad a spectrum, but he is not hostile to Coryzalia® for the common cold, or even Hamamelis compound for venous disease, and Passiflora compound against stress. There is obviously no risk in trying these inexpensive preparations (around 5 €). However, people really interested in this medicine cannot be satisfied with it. In this case, it is strongly recommended to consult a homeopathic doctor, in order to become familiar with the homeopathic approach. “Especially since almost all my colleagues advise their patients by telephone”, recalls Bernard Chemouny. We can then embark on a finer self-medication with the granules (in 7 or 9 CH): by relying on the previous prescriptions or, with a little intellectual effort, by using a good manual to find the remedy that really suits us (there is no point in taking the treatment that was successful from a cousin or neighbor). In all cases, the rule remains the same: it is necessary to space out the catches as soon as an improvement is noted, and not to prolong the treatment beyond recovery.
