The organizers specify that the Covid-19 still limits travel quite significantly and that, for this reason, exhibitors, visitors and journalists would still find it difficult to come. Sixty exhibitors out of the usual 160 had already answered present. Moreover, the other official reason for this cancellation, indirectly linked this time to the pandemic, is the shortage of semiconductors, which has become the priority of both manufacturers and equipment manufacturers, who are primarily concerned.

I am convinced that the Geneva International Motor Show will come back stronger than ever in 2023. “ Thereby, Like the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games held in 2021, the Geneva Motor Show 2022 will take place in 2023.
What about the 2022 Paris Motor Show?
For his part, Sandro Mesquita, director of the Geneva Motor Show, prefers to cancel the 2022 edition four months before the opening rather than at the last minute, as was the case in 2020.
In parallel, this leaves the doubt on whether or not the Mondial de l’Auto will be held in Paris; in the fall of 2022. As it stands, the Parisian event suffers from the same constraints. Case to follow.
