Beware of contaminated water in Isère. Since Friday March 18, 2016, an epidemic of gastroenteritis hits the Isère. It all started in the accommodation facility for dependent elderly people (EHPAD) in the town of Vif, where 15 residents out of 52 presented symptoms of gastro. In parallel, an unusual absenteeism at the college of Vif put the chip in the ear of the Regional Health Agency (ARS). The latter then asked the operator of the water network to carry out a self-check of the quality of the water distributed.
The results of these analyzes, communicated by the Prefecture of Isère Sunday, March 20, highlight a significant microbial contamination in the water network. The most affected municipalities are those of Vif and Le Gua, which represents around 4,000 inhabitants.
