Playing DVDs and Blu-ray discs is of course a bit outdated these days. We prefer direct access to our media, for example via a NAS and a media player. To do that with existing discs, we have to rip them and it works great with VidCoder. You can specify exactly which elements of a disc should be converted and to what format. You can choose from all kinds of resolutions and device profiles in the formats mp4 and mkv, and conversion is very fast. VidCoder doesn’t work on secure disks, but we’ll get to that in a future edition.
