Forty-four euros for a PCR test and 25 to 30 euros for an antigen test, depending on the time of the week when it is carried out (it will be more expensive on weekends!). As of October 15, unvaccinated people must pay these sums to obtain the health pass and access all the places that require it, such as restaurants, bars or even the cinema. But that does not mean that PCR or antigen tests will pay for everyone. Some patients will be able to continue to be tested without paying a penny. We tell you which ones.
People for whom the tests remain free
There is of course no question of discouraging screening for Covid-19, and we know that being vaccinated does not prevent 100% from contracting and transmitting it. For vaccinated people, whatever the reason (symptoms, travel, meeting with grandparents, etc.), PCR and antigen tests will remain free.
Screenings will remain free for minors, without any restrictive conditions. Likewise, people with vaccination contraindication certificate (immunocompromised people for example), will be able to continue to be screened without paying.
Situations that make testing free
Several options allow you to be reimbursed for your Covid-19 screening test: for example, if you have a medical certificate of recovery from illness with a duration greater than 11 days and less than six months.
If your doctor has given you a prescription, you can still access the tests for free. Of course, if you are declared a contact case to Health Insuranceyou will receive an email/sms stating that you need to be tested, in this case you will not have to pay.
Another possibility: if you are part ofa collective screening campaign, within the National Education for example. If you are from return from a country on the red list when you leave your quarantine (you will need to present proof). The PCRs will be free if your antigen (less than 48h) is positive.
The places where the tests remain free
In the overseas territories, the situation remains very worrying. As a result, in most territories, PCR and antigen tests remain free even for people who do not get vaccinated. This will be the case at Mayotte, Guyana, Martinique or Guadeloupe.
The only place that escapes the rule is Reunion, where PCR tests will be chargeable as in France, a little cheaper: during the week, they will cost the unvaccinated 27.16 euros and 32.16 on Sundays, underlines the Huffington Post.
