Forza Horizon 5 is already a huge success

The popular racing game Forza Horizon 5 breaks an Xbox Studios record and is already very popular.

The Forza Horizon series has not done the developers of Forza any harm. Where the Motorsport series is a kind of Gran Turismo rival, Horizon is more the Need for Speed side. A large open world where, in addition to racing, you can also drive around freely. Forza Horizon 4 came out in 2018 and now, three years later, the world can now enjoy part 5. Forza Horizon 5 came out yesterday and is already a huge success.

That’s not exactly a surprise. Forza Horizon 4 was a huge success and part five is basically the same game but improved on many fronts. It is the first Forza game where the full potential of the Xbox Series X is clearly visible. At the same time, people can still play the game with the now fairly old Xbox One (and One S and One X) and owners of a (game) PC can also get started with Forza Horizon 5. Also, the game came to Game Pass from the beginning, which you can get started for free if you already had the Xbox game subscription. In addition, the official release was on November 9, but owners of the most expensive Premium Edition could already play the game on November 5.

The developer of Forza Horizon 5, Playground Games, is part of Xbox Game Studios and is therefore more or less Xbox/Microsoft itself. Phil Spencer, big boss of Xbox, says that the latest Horizon is by no means a flop. More than 4.5 million players have already played the game on PC, cloud and console. In addition, a record: more people than ever played the game on release day, about three times as many as Forza Horizon 4.

In Forza Horizon 5 you are the superstar of the ‘Horizon Festival’. A big festival where it’s all about the biggest parties and the fastest cars. Forza Horizon is always based on a real location, in this case Mexico. With around 500 cars including brand new ones like the Land Rover Defender and Mercedes-AMG One, great graphics, a lot to discover and a lot of races to win, Forza is likely to be the best in class again for some time to come.
