Microsoft plans to remove Xbox 360 games from Games with Gold’s offering. This will happen from October 2022.
This is evident from an e-mail that the company sends to members. With Games with Gold, Xbox Live Gold subscribers get monthly “free” games for both Xbox One and Xbox 360.
But that will change in October. The reason: Microsoft has come to an end. From a technical point of view, partly due to licenses, it is no longer possible to offer more games.
End of an era
This brings us to the end of an era. The Xbox 360 games are still playable on the Xbox Series X and Series S; the latest game consoles from Microsoft.
Over the years, Microsoft has caused a furore with its backward compatibility program, which means that games from the past can still be played on modern hardware.
This is also the reason for many gamers to still get a console from Microsoft. Their old games aren’t worthless. And while nothing will change that idea (old games are still playable), so keep in mind that no new Xbox 360 games will be added later this year.
