October 5.
Winter is coming soon and with it its share of illnesses and seasonal epidemics. Among them, the flu. If you are fragile or work in contact with sick people, the vaccination campaign starts on October 6.
Who is affected by the influenza vaccine?
The Ministry of Health is launching its new flu vaccination campaign from October 6 throughout France. Minister Agnès Buzyn thus wishes that all the people concerned by this injection, having a vaccination voucher at their home, protect themselves from this epidemic.
Should I get vaccinated? The people affected by the vaccine in France are the over 65s, people suffering from chronic diseases (diabetes, heart or respiratory failure), pregnant women, people suffering from morbid obesity. In all, twelve million people at risk, should receive the injection from October 6.
Health personnel also affected by the vaccine
The Ministry of Health wants to do everything possible to prevent the epidemic from spreading, especially in environments welcoming the sick and vulnerable people. Thereby, general practitioners, nurses, midwives, pediatricians, pharmacists, physiotherapists, gynecologists and dental surgeons are invited to be vaccinated.
To facilitate access to this vaccine, you can contact your doctor, nurse or midwife or even in a pharmacy if you live in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, Hauts-de-France, Nouvelle-Aquitaine or Occitanie (test regions of this new device). VSEvery year, complications from the flu kill many people. In 2017, 13,000 people died compared to 14,400 in 2016. It’s better, but the figures could still be revised downwards.
