The Order of Nurses threatened

This is not the first time that the Order of Nurses has made its voice heard. In 2012, 5 complaints were filed against 14 nursing assistants and a maintenance worker for the same reasons. The case rekindles still hot embers, since last May, the Mulhouse prosecutor lodged a complaint with 6 nurses for non-membership of the Oni. A controversy then erupted, bringing to light tensions between the Order and the government. The Minister of Social Affairs and Health has indeed questioned the need for an Order of Nurses. And for good reason: of the 450,000 nurses practicing in France, only 153,000 are registered with the Order. “The situation will change,” promised Marisol Touraine on May 13.
