Ten years ago, Sabrina, then 25 years old, was interned at the Paul-Guiraud hospital in Villejuif (Val-de-Marne) at the request of her father. Brilliant student in marketing and top athleteshe suffered then anorexia but refused to heal.
She spent a year there. Ten years later, his left wrist still bears the marks of restraint, we learn in The Parisian.
A year in isolation
Interned without her consent, she is uncooperative. She will therefore be placed in isolation, fed with a gastric tube and sometimes tied to her bed for several days in a row.
Recently, the High Authority for Health (HAS) looked into the hospitalization conditions of the 400,000 people placed each year in psychiatric establishments and services. The High Authority then published new recommendations intended for healthcare professionals so that they have less recourse to isolation and restraint measures.
For her part, the young woman, now cured, decided to file an appeal against the psychiatric hospital of Villejuif. She denounces “inhuman and degrading treatment” and brings the case before the administrative court of Melun.
