Sensation of heaviness, pain and swelling in the ankles, tingling: these are the famous “heavy legs“from which one in two women suffers. Heredity, overweight, hormonal factors, heat, prolonged standing, lack of physical activity are all risk factors for this venous insufficiency. This is sometimes accompanied (especially in the evening) by water retention resulting in swollen ankles and feet: the famous edemas.
1. An oil against water retention
In a 60 ml bottle, mix 2 ml of EO of cedar from the Atlas, 2 ml of EO of pistachio lentisk, 2 ml of EO of patchouli, 2 ml of evergreen cypress EO, 20 ml of hazelnut vegetable oil. Complete with calophylle vegetable oil. We massage our legs with this oil from the bottom up, 2 times a day for 20 days. Not recommended for pregnant women, lactating and in the event of a history of hormone-dependent cancer.
2. Decongestant cypress

Complete with calophylle vegetable oil. Once or twice a day, massage your legs with this lotion, going up through the inner face and down through the outer face. Contraindicated in the event of a history of hormone-dependent cancer, during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
3. A soothing foot bath
Dilute 10 drops of essential oil from Atlas cedar or rosemary in a plug of neutral bath gel or 1 tablespoon of dispersant (Disper®, solubol …), then pour into a basin of hot water. Soak your feet for ten minutes.
Express solution
We put on the essential oil of pistachio mastic, an excellent venous and lymphatic decongestant. We pour 3 to 4 drops of EO in 1 teaspoon ofvegetable oil (if possible calophylle, decongestant) and the legs are massaged from the bottom up, from the ankles to the thighs, morning and evening after washing. Not recommended during the first 3 months of pregnancy.

In naturopathy, venous insufficiency is often associated with congestion of the liver. For a basic action, we opt for essential oils of lemon and of basil to stimulate liver and biliary functions. Pour 1 drop of each intoolive oil and this mixture is taken before each meal for 7 days.
