We almost all have our ears glued to our Smartphone, the Wi-Fi permanently activated on our Box and relay antennas growing above our heads. This invisible technological world simplifies our life in many ways and few of us today would have trouble giving it up. Yet, paradoxically, we are increasingly worried by theomnipresence of electro-magnetic waves on our health. This is why the National Assembly voted for a bill on this subject on January 23 with these flagship measures.
Supervision of relay antennas
The bill entrusts ANSES (National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety) with the task of periodically assessing the health risks of exposure to electromagnetic waves. The proposal also recalls that it will also be essential “to modernize the procedures for setting up relay antennas, in order to ensure more information, exchanges and consultation, under the aegis of the National Agency for frequencies and the mayor, who is best able to perceive local issues ”.
No Wi-Fi in places welcoming children
Nurseries and nursery schools can no longer be equipped with a Wi-Fi network. “The bill intends to protect vulnerable people from the effects of exposure to electromagnetic fields. Everyone agrees, young children constitute populations at risk. . “
Education in the proper use of the cell phone
The bill provides for “strengthening of the rules relating to advertising for mobile phones and other radio terminals: prohibition of all advertising aimed at promoting the use and sale of a mobile phone to children under the age of fourteen; accompanying a message of recommendation on the correct use of the cell phone in all advertisements intended to promote them; obligation to show mobile phone users with headset in each advertisement … ”.
Towards recognition of electro-sensitivity
The bill provides for the drafting of a report to “provide concrete answers to people suffering fromelectro-hypersensitivity“. This disease is currently not recognized by the medical profession. People who claim to be victim of it speak of nausea, migraine, vomiting or irritation … Symptoms whose cause is the presence of electromagnetic waves .
