Decided a long time ago, the hardening of the ecological bonus in 2022 could be postponed by six months. Aid for the purchase of electric and plug-in hybrid cars would thus wait until July 1 to drop by € 1,000.
The years go by and look the same for the ecological bonus. At the end of 2021, faced with the crisis caused by the coronavirus, the scale then in force had been extended by six months. The drop in aid initially planned for January only took place last July. (read below). Today, for slightly different reasons, the Government is preparing to make the same announcement again. The new reduction of 1 000 € which was programmed for the 1er January 2022 would be postponed to 1er July 2022. In any case, this is what our colleagues from Echoes, which evoke a “Source close to the file”. But it still takes a few tweezers, claiming that “This is the current orientation, even if the question is not totally arbitrated”.
TO READ. Bonus and premium for conversion. The 2020 scale extended to mid-2021
An announcement possible on October 26
The confirmation could take place on October 26, during # JournéeDeLaFilièreAuto organized by the Automotive Platform (PFA). One of the goals of this new calendar would be to support a sector still in difficulty, this time under the effect of the shortage of semiconductors. New car sales have remained extremely low in recent months, and the situation does not appear to be improving quickly. The expected drop would also have come down very badly, whereas the price of fuel always higher could push some recalcitrant motorists to turn to the electric car or plug-in hybrid. “It’s about not having planes every six months”, indicates another source cited by The echoes.
A reprieve for plug-in hybrids
If the information is verified, the ecological bonus would remain at € 6,000 until June 30, 2022 for electric cars under 45 000 € and € 2,000 for those priced between € 45,000 and € 60,000. The news would be even better for plug-in hybrids whose price is less than € 50,000, since they were initially to go from € 1,000 aid to nothing at all.
As for electric vans, they can actually benefit from € 7,000 tax incentive since this summer. On the other hand, the evolution of the conversion premium remains very uncertain. This should normally also be screwed on 1er January, with a further reduction of 5 g / km of the CO emissions threshold2. New thermal vehicles which emit more than 127 g / km on the WLTP cycle would thus be excluded from the device.
