If you don’t have children, you’ve probably never heard of M’T dents. Behind this acronym hides the full coverage by Health Insurance of certain preventive appointments at the dentist.
Until now, M’T dents visits were reserved for children aged 6, 9, 12, 15 and 18 years old. One month before the date of their birthday, you receive an invitation letter from Health Insurance for a dental prevention appointment.
But from next January 1, young adults will also be able to benefit from additional visits fully covered by health insurance. A decree published on April 25 in the Official Journal set the age of these additional meetings at 21 and 24 years old.
And if care is needed?
When the dentist discovers that the child or adolescent needs additional care (treatment of cavities and roots, scaling, sealing of furrows, etc.), these are covered 100% by the Health Insurance . However, this treatment must be carried out within nine months of the examination.
If your child is 6 or 12 years old: you benefit from the exemption from advance fees and you therefore have no money to advance.
If your child is 9, 15 or 18 years old: it is up to you to pay the costs in advance, but you will be reimbursed quickly.
The extension of M’T dents visits is essentially aimed at students who give up oral care due to a lack of financial means.
