Health insurance has enough to strangle. The return to the old orange sheets of paper to qualify for reimbursements has had the effect hoped by doctors opposed to government reform. The health insurance services are overwhelmed by requests. This congestion can be measured by a figure communicated by the interested parties: reimbursements for medical and dental care fell by 5.1% in January 2015 compared to the same month of 2014.
The replacement of the Vital Card, which guarantees remote transmission, by the old reimbursement sheets had been decided in January. This symbolic measure to mark the anger of the doctors intervened just after the closing of the cabinets during the Christmas holidays.
The barter of the Vital Card against paper was followed especially by general practitioners if we judge the data of the Secu: it is among them that this drop is the most significant. Reimbursement for the care they prescribe fell by -10.1% compared to January 2014.
In detail, reimbursements for specialized care fell by 4.3% compared to January 2014. Dental care also fell slightly by -0.9% compared to January 2014.
Doctors are calling for a revaluation of the medical act (to 25 or even 31 euros in some unions) and are opposed to the generalization of third-party paymentprovided for in the health bill.
