The contents in soda sugar and fruit juices is well known. A 25 cl glass of 7up, for example, contains the equivalent of 4.2 sugar cubes. But we often ignore that a very large number of products from the food industry are also rich in sugars. White sugar but also maltose, dextrose without forgetting the glucose-fructose syrup. However, sugar is responsible for a large number of metabolic diseases, like diabetes.

This is why the magazine 60 million consumers, in association with the French Federation of Diabetics, made the hidden sugar hunt in industrial foods. 192 foods were scrutinized. We thus learn that crackers are rich in glucose fructose syrup, that light sauces are light in fat but that they contain twice as much sugar as standard sauces or that half a frozen pizza contains the equivalent of 2.6 sugar cubes.
We discover that by composing a meal based on industrial foods, the daily limit of 50g of sugar per day recommended by the World Health Organization is rapidly being exceeded.
