Monday, November 14, on the occasion of World Diabetes Day, the International Diabetes Federation (IDF) launched an online test that identifies his predispositions to the disease.
An information platform
Are you predisposed to become diabetic? To find out, just go to the site Test2prevent (understand: test to prevent), put online by the IDF. On this platform, you can identify your predispositions by answering nine questions on your age, your family history, your waist size, your physical activity, or your diet.
In less than a minute, you will be able to know if you are at risk or not. If you are indeed predisposed to developing diabetes, you will be asked to see a doctor or nurse for a blood sugar test. According to IDF, 700,000 people do not know they are sick in France.
Get tested as soon as possible
The goal would be to screen a million people throughout November and more in the months to come. The later the diagnosis is made, the more the disease is heavy to bear. According to the French Public Health Agency, even when a patient is cared for, he is exposed to increased excess mortality : + 51% for women and + 34% for men.
The International Diabetes Federation has more than 200 member associations in more than 160 countries. Its activities aim to raise awareness about diabetes and its complications, improve the quality of and access to diabetes education, and raise standards of treatment and care around the world.
