The United States Medicines Agency has approved a drug for anxiety, insomnia and depression that contains stamens and banana peel.
- This is the first time that an official agency has validated the deployment of this treatment.
- Developed by the Taiwanese company TCI, it uses a cold ultrasonic extraction process called “Happy Banana”.
- The stamens also prevent the enlarged prostate which affects almost two out of three adults over the age of 60.
The United States has just authorized the marketing of a new drug to fight against depression and anxiety. Last month, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given the green light for a treatment that contains elements from the Taiwanese banana with therapeutic benefits. It could also be effective against insomnia. This is the first time that an official agency has validated the deployment of this treatment.
Banana peel promotes sleep
The drug contains stamens – the male reproductive system in plants – and banana peel. Developed by Taiwanese company TCI, it uses a cold ultrasonic extraction process and also includes ingredients similar to those contained in Prozac. This process was at the same time patented by the company and was baptized “Happy Banana”.
Studies conducted on animals have revealed that orally administered banana peel extracts have functions against anxiety and depression. Other research has also shown that banana peels can improve the expression of genes associated with the amino acid tryptophan metabolic pathway, promoting the production of serotonin and melatonin in the body. All this helps to promote sleep.
Stamens prevent prostate enlargement
Stamens have been demonstrated through various studies, the TCI researchers noted in a statement, their ability to prevent prostate enlargement. This effect is significant given that nearly two out of three adults over 60 are affected by prostate hypertrophy.
