In parallel with the Covid-19 epidemic, cyberviolence is exploding: on social networks (Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, Discord …), insults, threats, blackmail on the webcam, on videos or stolen photos , or even humiliations are now commonplace.
In February 2021, the e-Enfance association noted a 57% increase in online violence compared to 2019, in particular among young people aged 15 to 17.
To cope with this worrying phenomenon, the State Secretariat in charge of Children and Families and the e-Enfance Association have just launched (as part of the Childhood Emergency Plan in the face of Covid-19) an issue of assistance for victims: 3018.
Cyber-harassment, revenge porn, identity theft … 3018 can help!
Free, anonymous and confidential, the 3018 connects victims of cyberviolence (children and adolescents) with professionals (psychologists, lawyers and digital tools specialists) specialists in cyber-harassment, revenge porn, webcam blackmail, overexposure to screens, video games, exposure to violent and pornographic content, parental controls, account settings on social networks, account hacking or even identity theft. It should be noted that these specialists can also speak to the relatives of the victims.
3018: what is this number for? “Trusted flagger“(ie:” confidence indicator “) from several social networks (Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, Instagram, TikTok, Twitch, Youtube, Roblox, Discord and Yubo), the 3018 is able to do quickly delete an illegal post or account (harming the victim) in just a few hours.
Very concretely, the 3018 experts listen to the victim and advise him, analyze the account or the content concerned and qualify it legally, list the constituent elements and constitute a report file, which is then sent to the moderation service of the social network concerned via a priority channel.
To know : accessible by phone 6 days a week, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., 3018 can also be contacted by messaging via the e-Childhood website.
