A Personnelle brand sunscreen has just been the subject of a product recall in Canada. The product would be contaminated by microbes which could be very dangerous for health.
Sunscreen that can cause septic shock
After recalling a first batch of sunscreens, the Canadian company Empack Spraytech Inc. announced thata new batch of a Personal brand lotion was in turn to be recalled. According to the brand, which issued a press release to warn consumers, these creams, which are traditionally sold in Jean Coutu pharmacies, would be contaminated by microbes.
This contamination could have serious consequences on the health of people who use this cream.. According to the brand’s press release, it would cause skin infections ” and sometimes serious problems, such as meningitis, septic shock, septic arthritis, pneumonia, endocarditis or sepsis “. The brand is issuing a special warning to children and to people who have a weakened immune system and who could suffer more from the effects of this contamination.
