I can barely walk eighteen holes of golf, about four hours, because of burning feet. What can I do about that? I am a man of 82 years.

As far as I’m concerned you are a blessed person if at the age of 82 you are still able to walk for four hours straight. That sounds a bit like a clincher, but the reality is that you get defects at a certain age.
I think you suffer from neuropathy – the deterioration of the condition of the nerves – in the feet. This often occurs in people with diabetes, but also, without an obvious cause, in the elderly. You can be checked whether you have diabetes and, if necessary, have it checked whether the level of vitamin B12 in your blood is still high enough.
Lack of B vitamins is often accompanied by these kinds of complaints. In your case I would now and then take a vitamin B preparation, although I would realize that the chance that it helps is not very great. You may also be able to seek advice from a podiatrist. Sometimes a different kind of shoes can make all the difference.
