BMW looks back on the 750iL, its V12 limousine from the end of the 1990s. During its career, this one was notably personalized by Karl Lagerfeld and used by James Bond in the cinema. Check out the 007 limousine stuff.
BMW offers us a new discovery among the nuggets kept by the Classic department of the group. Today it is about the 750iL, the manufacturer’s most opulent limousine at the end of the 1990s. And if the car is already remarkable in origin, it has seen some even more original versions.

A limousine signed Lagerfeld
Base, the 750iL, it is a Series 7 type E38 with a wheelbase extended by 14 cm for a total length of 5.12 m. A 5.4 L 326 V12 ch powers this vehicle of about two tons. It is also a catalog of plethora of equipment for the time with, among other things, a GPS on a color screen, a removable medium for writing on the back and, already, a heated steering wheel. Even more luxurious, a 750iL received a special configuration designed with Karl Lagerfeld, like an E32 before it, as part of a collaboration between BMW and the Four Seasons Hotel in Hamburg. Recognizable by its gradient from light gray to red (from top to bottom) and its light beige leather upholstery, the limousine includes a refrigerated minibar, a fax machine and even a VHS video recorder with screen. Lagerfeld and BMW Individual also designed an even longer L7 in 2000.

But the most remarkable BMW 750iL is undoubtedly the one used by James Bond in the film. Tomorrow Never Dies. In order to escape his enemies, the British spy jumps in the back of the car and then remote controls it from a small mobile device.
Missile launchers, smoke projectors or even the removal of sharp objects used to puncture the tires of pursuers are among the on-board gadgets.
