The fight against tobacco continues and with it this new measure aimed at reimbursing anti-smoking patches.
Reimburse anti-smoking patches
The Minister of Health and Solidarity Agnès Buzyn makes the fight against tobacco her main battle horse. In question, too many deaths, cancers or respiratory illnesses triggered by smoking. Since January 2018, the price of cigarette packs has already increased significantly.
This time around, this new measure makes it possible to support those who wish to reduce their consumption or permanently quit smoking. After the reimbursement since March 28 of the Nicotine EG chewing gum (€ 14.14), the NicoretteSkin (€ 28.55) from Jonhson & Jonhson will be reimbursed up to 65% by Health Insurance.
Negotiations with the laboratories?
” This support allows all patients access to these substitution treatments, including the most modest », Says the minister. Other brands will probably be reimbursed (in part) in the coming months, following negotiations between Health Insurance and the laboratories, the main players in this measure.
The reimbursement of the patches has been registered in the Official Journal on May 16 and will take effect from May 20. Also note that the withdrawal assistance package amounting to € 150, which was intended to be extinguished this year, will finally be maintained.
