Judged clinically dead after a very serious accident, a young American teenager has come out of a coma. The miracle happened the day before the doctors planned to unplug it.
Thirteen-year-old Trenton McKinley is what you might call a miracle. Plunged into a coma for two months and declared brain dead, the young American from the state of Alabama suddenly woke up when he was to be unplugged on Saturday, May 5.
The teenager had been the victim of an accident at one of his friends: while he was installed in the trailer of a buggy (a kind of quad), the machine fell on his head. “After that, I don’t remember anything,” Trenton McKinley said in an interview with American television station Fox10.
The doctors were not very optimistic about the state of health of the young boy. Convinced that their son would remain in a vegetative state, his parents even planned to donate his organs to 5 sick children.
Seven skull fractures
But the day before the doctors were supposed to unplug him, the teenager started to show signs of life, before waking up completely. “I was in a field, I was walking,” said the latter, convinced that he was in paradise.
Suffering from seven fractures to the skull, Trenton McKinley will have to undergo several operations as well as a long rehabilitation before being able to fully recover from his accident. Her mother appealed for donations on Facebook. To date, 11,386 have been harvested.
