A Volkswagen Combi converted into a motorhome in 1975 is for sale in the United States. This rare “split” model transformed by the Jurgens company, recently restored, costs nearly €90,000. The future ally of your trips?
The unusual motorhome of the day is located in Miami (Florida, USA), it is currently offered for sale by In Gear Automobiles and could particularly interest fans of the Volkswagen Combi since it is a semi-official transformation dating from 1975. That year, this van left the factory in 1961 in South Africa with a right-hand drive was converted into a motorhome by the specialist Jurgens, like others. But even within the small series of vehicles thus created, the one that interests us here is among the very rare “split” equipped with a two-part windshield. To top it off, it is in excellent condition as it has benefited from a restoration.
Everything for “vintage” excursions
The plank cabin added to the Combi contrasts with the orange color of the bodywork, colors that are found on the rims. The vehicle has a windshield and a “safari” rear window that can be opened.
The cabin includes a double bed housing storage, a stove, a sink, and even a small bathroom, among other things. The original steering wheel has been kept and refurbished while the upholstery has recently been changed. The sheets and curtains, orange and white, echo the exterior colors.
