A cosmetic product of the Atoderm brand is the cause of a burn in a 4-year-old child with eczema. It is a packaging error that the product Atoderm PP anti recurrence-Emollient balm and whose batch number is 34 481 which caused this undesirable effect. Afsaps (French Agency for the Safety of Health Products) recommends that this product not be used and that it be returned to the point of sale.
For its part, the Bioderma laboratory has taken “all measures to remove the incriminated products as quickly as possible from pharmacists, drugstores, central and wholesalers,” informs David Durand, marketing director of Bioderma.
“The incriminated products are easily recognizable,” he continues, “this only concerns 500 milliliter formats. The vial pump is blue instead of white. This would concern around twenty products from batch 34 481 Atoderm PP anti recurrence-Emollient balm. “
The evolution of the “adverse skin effect” in the 4-year-old child was favorable, without sequelae, after discontinuation of the product and establishment of symptomatic treatment.
