Healthy snacks for football fans
An evening of watching football with friends is of course great fun, but is often accompanied by fatty snacks and abundant beer. How do you prevent that coziness from settling straight on your hips? We selected the better TV snacks!
Potato chips, beer, pretzels… an evening watching football is often accompanied by tasty snacks. But wouldn’t it be nice to cheer without worrying about the calories you’re consuming in the meantime? These TV snacks are good for the weight and do not make the viewing pleasure any less.
Nuts
Chips and nuts seem indispensable during an evening of watching football. Salty stalks, Japanese mix or popcorn are good substitutes. All three contain considerably fewer calories than the well-known salty peanuts. Tortilla chips are also relatively low in calories.
savory snacks
Keep in mind that almost all sausages are quite fatty. Eat little liver sausage or salami and prefer lean meat varieties such as lean ham – delicious with a pickle – chicken or turkey. A stuffed egg is also fine. Beat the egg yolk with a little ketchup and possibly some yogurt. Spread toasts with slimy cheese spread sambal. This is even orange in color and low in calories. You can also opt for filet américain, salmon or herring. The last two are packed good fats.
raw food
Raw food may seem a bit cheesy, but not when you serve it orange style. Think orange peppers, carrots and mandarin or orange segments. Apricot, mango and peach are also orange delights. Serve a yogurt dip with the raw vegetables, if desired. You can of course also fill the peppers with a light cream cheese.
Hot snacks
Fancy something warm? Snacks from the oven are considerably less fat than snacks from the deep-fat fryer. Mini pizzas, for example, or homemade mini sausage rolls with tartare. But also think of homemade meatballs (to be eaten cold and hot!) or, for example, skewers with marinated beef or chicken. Serve the sauce on the side, so everyone can decide for themselves how much of it they take. Also serve red sauce instead of, for example, satay or garlic sauce; barbecue sauce or chili sauce is much less fat.
What do you drink?
Many football fans like to drink beer during the game. Tasty, but also very high in calories. Fortunately, there are light variants. Red wine and some other alcoholic drinks contain fewer calories than beer or mixed drinks. Do you still want to mix? Then mix yourself and use diet soda where possible to participate. Also try drinking one on one; In other words: a glass of alcohol with a glass of water.
You can prevent unsolicited refills by ensuring that you always keep a bottom in your glass. Do you not drink alcohol? Fruit juice from a carton also contains a lot of sugar. Dilute it with water, the taste will not diminish. Soft lemonade and unsweetened or fresh fruit juices are also fine.
