The Mercedes B-Class will get a final restyling before disappearing from the catalog. On the program: redesigned optics, revised grille and modernized interior. The premium compact MPV should be presented at the end of the year for marketing in 2023.
The Mercedes B-Class will soon bow out. Marketed since 2005 and available in three generations, it is about to receive its ultimate facelift. The SUVs will eventually have his skin! The premium compact MPV segment now only includes the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer.
A light restyling
Spy photos of a development prototype, taken in Germany a few months ago, gave us a taste of what the facelifted version of the B-Class will look like. The compact minivan adopts new front optics and takes up the LED signature already crossed on the other models of the star manufacturer. Still at the front, we notice a redesigned shield and a grille with rounded ends. At the rear, the shield and the lights also have the right to a new pencil stroke.
Modernized equipment
There are also changes in the cabin. The new B-Class should benefit from the latest-generation MBUX infotainment system found on the C-Class and S-Class. The touch-sensitive surface in the center console disappears. Now everything can be controlled by voice command. The steering wheel should also be updated, with the appearance of haptic feedback buttons. In addition, the Class B should progress in terms of driving aids.
In terms of engines, the compact minivan should always accommodate petrol units ranging from 109 to 224 hp and from 116 to 190 hp for diesels. In order to reduce CO emissions2, the entire motor range could receive light electrification of the 48V type. The strong 218 hp B250 e plug-in hybrid version will also be part of the offer.
Marketing in 2023
The restyled Mercedes B-Class is to be presented at the end of the year. The market launch of the German compact MPV is scheduled for the first months of the year 2023.
