The owner of an Alpine A110 received a ticket for a speeding recorded on the Paris ring road. However, the photo taken by the radar clearly shows that no one was on board the coupe, which was not even driving!
Maître Dufour, a lawyer at the Paris Bar specializing in contesting reports generated by automatic speed cameras, shared the unusual case of one of his clients on social networks. The Alpine A110 of the latter has indeed been “flashed” on the device… driverless, on a trailer and against the direction of traffic. This did not prevent him from receiving the notice of violation since, obviously, no one winced at the CNT (National Processing Center) in Rennes, which must analyze the violations noted to send or not the corresponding PVs.
An easy to spot mistake
On the photo taken by the radar, we quickly realize that the car is on a plateau, perhaps that of a tow truck, to which it is strapped. A glance at the wheels is enough to confirm that the car is not rolling, not to mention that no one is behind the wheel. In addition, the camera that spotted the “crime” photographs the cars from behind. But the A110 in question faces it ; it was loaded from behind.

When the radar misses the target
It was on the Parisian ring road, near the Lilas tunnel, that this Alpine A110 was flashed. The radar recorded it at a speed of 79 km / h while the limit is 70 km / h. This corresponds to a fine of 135 € and the withdrawal of a point on the driving licence. Photo in support, the owner of the berlinetta should easily escape the sanction. On the other hand, if the registration number of the truck appears on the original photo, it could be otherwise for its driver.
