A hope for treatment
“2018 is a pivotal year in terms of treatments”, according to the president of the Association as reported by AFP. Doctors and patients are indeed basing their hopes on dupilumab, a new molecule that is part of “biotherapies”. Intended for adults, it is currently in temporary use in several hospitals. “These are drugs that manage to both precisely target and block the key molecule or cell that is involved in the formation of eczema,” explains the Association Française de l’Eczéma.
While waiting for treatment, with the approach of summer to live well with his disease, Dr. Emmanuel Mahé, dermatologist member of RésoEczéma, gave his recommendations to France Info. Among these, rinse well with clear water after a bath in the sea or in the swimming pool, and if it does not oppose exposure to the sun in the event of eczema, as for everyone , you have to remember to protect your skin well by applying sunscreen with a protection factor of 30 or more.
