Peaches, nectarines or nectarines: what are the differences?
- The Peach : under its velvety skin, it can hide a white or yellow flesh, always melting. There is also the vine peach, a later variety that can be found on the shelves from September to October, but superb with its white flesh marbled with red and very fragrant. To try in jams, it is amazing! And there are also the peaches flat, easy to store in crates, but also very fragrant.
- The nectarine: under its smooth skin, its flesh may be white, yellow or bloody. Much juicier than nectarine, it is also more fragile. And its big difference with the latter is its core, which clings to the flesh and does not come off easily. Not very easy to eat without getting your fingers full, but it’s worth it.
- Nectarine: smooth skin for the nectarine too, and an easy-to-peel core: it’s the perfect fruit for those who don’t feel like spending time peeling and pitting.
