A car that was filled to the brim with stuff and even more luggage on the roof rack. Anyone who used to go on holiday by car as a child will recognize it. What all father and mother packed? Everything! Thirteen crazy things according to Pluslezers that were very common at the time.
1. A casserole of fresh meatballs in gravy.
2. All kinds of pets. A parakeet in a cage, a guinea pig, a turtle.
3. A centrifuge. Almost unimaginable, but some Plus readers really say it. Their mother took the centrifuge in the car (or trailer).
4. Frozen food for the first night. For example, sauerkraut stew.
5. Cheese wrapped in damp cloths.
6. A pot of fresh soup. Just hope nothing spilled out along the way.
7. Bags to make stew.
8. The postcode book.
9. Cans of Smac for the macaroni.
10. Boiled eggs.
11. Canned meat and butter.
12. A stone flower pot. It went on holiday upside down on the stove and thus served as heating.
13. Bags of dried vegetables, such as carrots and onions.
