Caviar, pomegranate, hyaluronic acid, Q10… the cosmetics market is competing for formulas without these proving to be effective against skin aging. This is what a recent study of the magazine reveals 60 million consumers.
Anti-wrinkle creams: no quick fixes
The marketing of wrinkle creams is huge, and the placebo effect seems to be working. In its last November issue, 60 million consumers leads the investigation. The magazine classifies a panel of anti-wrinkle cosmetics according to their composition and their effectiveness.
Results : 7 out of 10 creams are ineffective. None of the creams tested is truly effective against aging skin and only 3 are average. At the top of the ranking list, we find the Caudalie brand and its “Vine[Activ] “, Followed by” Nuxuriance Ultra “(Nuxe) and” Nectar of nature des Cosmétiques “(Carrefour).
UV filter creams considered allergenic
The survey also shows that the use of UV filters in wrinkle creams is ineffective in protecting against the sun. And these UV filters would even prove to be dangerous for health, potentially allergenic or even toxic.
Thus, find themselves at the bottom of the list the “Q10 plus anti-wrinkle” from Nivea and the “Anti-wrinkle Day cream” from Cien, both of which contain UV filters. As for the 50 gram jar of “Lift” from the Chanel brand, sold for around 120 euros, if it does not contain harmful products, it is nevertheless ineffective.
