Everything from Apple is available as a Pro, except the Apple Watch. Is it still coming or has that chance gone?
It was already mentioned in the previous article: the name Pro is sacred these days. Because then you get just a little more targeted functions ‘for the professional’. We explained in that same previous article that sometimes that is a bit of hot air, but oh well.
Apple Pro
Apple has completely turned to this whole Pro phenomenon. You can get just about any device from the brand as regular and Pro. The Pro is the expensive version with better materials, better specs and better software. From MacBook to iPhone you can get these two versions, but there is one device that is not a Pro version, while that in itself would be quite understandable.
Apple Watch Pro
Then we are of course talking about the Apple Watch Pro. You can now get the Apple Watch in two versions: one with a large screen and one with a small screen. However, both have more or less exactly the same specifications and are also in the same price range. There could well be an ultimate smartwatch with the Pro name. Apple probably likes a ditto price tag.
En route?
In any case, it seems clear that the Apple Watch Pro name is not unknown to Apple. AppleDemoYT on Twitter shares a photo of this name on a demo of the Apple Watch from 2015. In other words, Apple has been grooming the Watch from six years ago for a possible Pro name.
What this means is not known. At least we know that Apple wanted something with a Watch Pro. It is unclear whether that is still in the pipeline. It may also have been an idea that Apple later backtracked on and has been on hold ever since.
So we have to be careful with claims like ‘Apple Watch Pro coming soon!’ because this is absolutely not clear. If Apple waited for the right time, now would be the right time. (through AppleDemoYT on Twitter)
