I am a widow of 70 and have recently had attacks of stabbing pain in the vagina. Sometimes I don’t have any problems for a few days and then suddenly it comes on, I get warm and the pain makes me nauseous. I am seeing a gynecologist and have already had an internal examination and ultrasound, which yielded nothing. Do you know what it could be?
No, that’s hard to say. Apparently there is nothing visible in the vagina itself. Because of the attacks and the stabbing pain, I actually think the most about cramping muscles in the pelvic floor. If it doesn’t go away, you could ask for a consultation with a pelvic floor physiotherapist.
