Via WhatsApp you can send moving pictures (gifs) to each other. You can easily add text to those gifs. This makes them more personal. For example, add the birthday boy’s name to a birthday gif.
This feature is currently only available for iPhones.
*Click on the gear at the bottom right of the video and choose the highest possible quality to view the video as sharp as possible.
Add text to a GIF on iPhone
- Open a conversation in WhatsApp
- Tap the plus button to the left of the text field
- Choose the option ‘Photo/video library’
- At the bottom, tap the magnifying glass with ‘GIF’ next to it
- Enter a search term, for example ‘birthday’.
- Click on the gif you want to use.
- Tap the T of text at the top right.
- Type your text.
- Change the color of the text with the color bar on the right.
- Ready to type? Tap anywhere in the gif.
- To resize the text, move two fingers together or apart to make the text smaller or larger.
- To rotate the text, move two fingers together and rotate the text.
- Tap the blue send button at the bottom right to send the gif.
