November 30.
With the return of the cold, the noses start to run again. Some colds are not very annoying, others put us off for several days. Should we consult at the first symptoms? What to do when you catch a cold?
Symptoms to watch out for
Headaches, sneezes, runny nose, fever, sore throat … We know cold symptoms by heart but we don’t always know what attitude to adopt. Should we go to the doctor immediately to prevent the situation from worsening? What is needed is to recognize the symptoms. If it is a simple cold, better to think that it is a bad time to pass. A viral infection cannot be cured. We must wait to get better.
On the other hand, if this cold is accompanied by violent headaches and repeated fatty coughs, do not hesitate to go to the doctor. Sinusitis or a lung infection should be treated. Bronchitis or pneumonia will require, if it is a bacterial infection, antibiotic treatment. In case of muscle pain, it could be the flu.
How to cure a cold?
Assume that a cold lasts an average of ten days. So be patient. In their book 4000 useful, unnecessary or dangerous drugs (Éditions du Recherches midi), Prof. Philippe Even and Prof. Bernard Debré explain that most common cold medicines, such as Rhinadvil, Actifed Cold Day and Night, Dolirhume-pro, Humex Cold, and other Fervex, can have significant side effects. It is therefore necessary to avoid taking it.
While these drugs alleviate the symptoms but they do not cure. Better to buy a box of tissues and take paracetamol, in case of headaches. Also remember to wash your sinuses. Seawater nasal sprays are very effective in the field and without any adverse effects.
